In partnership with families, community and administration, E.O. Muncie Elementary students and staff are dedicated to providing a secure atmosphere that empowers all children to reach their potential in a diverse and changing society. E.O. Muncie School is committed to promoting the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are essential for lifelong learning.
E.O. Muncie serves the hilltop area west of Cragmont Street including Michigan Road north to Mouser Street . The district also includes Highway 7 north to Wirt, Audubon Park , Woodside, and Hereford Lake . Current enrollment is 574 with 82 staff members.Average class size is 25 students.
Literacy Collaborative is utilized in grades K,1, and 2 plus Reading Recovery is available for first grade students who qualify. We are an inclusion school which means students with a learning disability or are identified as mildly mentally disabled are included within the general classroom with academic support from a resource teacher. We are also a magnet school for the corporation for the emotionally disabled, moderate disabled, developmental kindergarten, medically fragile, and the ESL program.
