At MCHS we provide three curricular bands for our students. These bands learn basic to advanced instrumental techniques and perform several concerts at school and in the community.
Advanced Band
Advanced band is the premier performing instrumental ensemble at Madison. It is comprised of 10th, 11th, & 12th, grade students. Advanced Band is a full year commitment. Students must have completed one year of concert band at MCHS in order to be eligible for this class. Students in advanced band will be expected to attend 8 of 10 basketball games during the pep band/basketball season.
Concert Band
Concert band is one of our performing instrumental ensembles at Madison. It is comprised 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Concert band is a full year commitment. Students must have completed band at the Jr. High level in order to be eligible for this class. Students will also be expected to attend 8 of 10 basketball games during the pep band/basketball season.
Jazz Band
Jazz band is a performing instrumental ensemble offered at Madison. It is comprised of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students. Jazz Band is a full-year commitment. Students must have completed band at the Jr. High level in order to be eligible for this class. This class focuses on jazz styles of playing while also introducing new genres of music.
